What Therapeutic Methods Do I Use?

Clinical Hypnotherapy: Hypnosis is a state of consciousness which you can enter naturally and then supportive suggestions can be made directly to your unconscious mind. In this way, hypnosis is an effective way of making contact with our inner (unconscious) self, which is both a source of insight and can be the cause of many of our issues. You are always in control and aware of your surroundings during hypnosis, and cannot be made to do anything against your will.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP): NLP is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour. We all form unique internal mental maps of the world as a result of the way we filter and perceive information. Through our work we will endeavour to understand your unique mental maps, which will help us discover what may be limiting your ability to reach your full potential. We can then use NLP tools to move past your limitations and find new ways of thinking.

Life Coaching: This part of our work is about finding out what makes you tick, what are your goals and ambitions. I aim to empower you to find your own inner coach because I strongly believe that once my clients can access their inner resources they can become their own best coach. Life Coaching is focussed on reaching your future goals, however because I have therapeutic training as well, I can help you to discover past experiences that may be preventing you from moving forwards. In this way, the Therapeutic Coaching support I can provide can be more transformational than pure Life Coaching.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT): Also known as ‘tapping’, this empowering therapeutic tool enables you to process emotions, as they arise in the present moment, and trapped emotions caused by past events. EFT involves tapping on acupressure points whilst connecting into how you feel. It has widespread applications such as resolving trauma, self-soothing, managing anxiety, moving past limitations such as phobias and physical pain.

Mindfulness: I will employ mindfulness techniques throughout our work together to assist in calming the nervous system, to create a healing state, to connect into emotions and notice limiting thought patterns. Mindfulness techniques help you to be in present moment and in connection with your body, rather than being stuck in your mind worrying about the past or future. Mindfulness can improve anxiety, sleep issues and low mood.
